Asaf Levanon is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Haifa. His work focuses on institutional effects on ethnic, gender and class inequality in the labor market. Current research interests include contextual variation in patterns of occupational sex segregation and in the magnitude of motherhood wage penalty and factors affecting the likelihood of poverty among workers. He is spending the year at Stanford as a Visiting Associate Professor at the department of sociology and at the center for the study of poverty and inequality, sponsored by a visiting professor fellowship from the Israel Institute.
